Well, better late than never, right?
I mentioned a few times before that I was running behind this year on decorating. It sure wasn’t a lie… I didn’t have my “final” décor up until a few days ago.
I hope everyone had a great and safe Christmas this year. We had most of our gatherings already. We had three on Christmas Eve and two Christmas Day.
As much as we all love receiving gifts, I know we also love to give. That look when someone opens your gift and they are absolutely thrilled.. that’s priceless. This year I was a bit worried when that moment came, they would be disappointed. I stuck to a $50 budget for each family member.
Instead of purchasing something extravagant, I decided to be more thoughtful. For example, I got my sister a wine glass with a sparkly Jack Skellington face with the lyrics “What’s This?” written on it. (We both have loved the Nightmare Before Christmas since we were little.) I also got her a bracelet that says “You’re My Person” (from Greys Anatomy), Ariana Grande perfume (because we’re huge fans), and a few other small things that she loves.
I received many gifts that I loved this year, but my favorites were: a Roomba (I actually got two… one from wade and one from my mom and step dad), a necklace, an echo dot, a warm pair of UGGs, large totes, and money.
A few weeks ago, I started to make a list of goals and healthy habits I would like to accomplish in 2019. One of them is to get on top of my vacuuming (as I have been slacking like crazy). I wanted to vacuum at least three times a week. Now that I have these Roombas, I just have to hit clean on my phone and continue on with my day. It saves so much time!
If you know me, then you know I love music. I’ve always just played it from my phone, but the speakers are not nearly loud enough to jam out to. With this Echo Dot, I can now blast my tunes and drown out my own voice.
Want to know a secret about me? I hate my ankles showing and cold feet. My last years UGGs had to be thrown out because of water damage. My boyfriend’s parents got me a new pair and they’re so soft. I plan to avoid wearing this pair outside!
My brother, Jochum, got me a few large totes. Another goal of mine this year is to become more organized. I like to keep my seasonal décor in separate totes. As the years go on, I keep accumulating more decorations. Weird, huh? 😉
Last but not least….money. Most people “want to get you a physical gift” or “something that you can actually unwrap”. I get that, but to be completely honest medical bills aren’t cheap and when you miss work for a week or so….you get behind. So, a big thank you to everyone who gave us cash.. It really helps relieve some stress and pressure.

I was able to find the lantern that has the 3 Christmas trees in it. My son bought it for me for Christmas. Now I am looking for the 3 trees. Are they from RAZ Imports? Where did you find them and what color are they? In the picture they look white and brown but the only description I can find says “glitter” and they don’t really look like glitter to me. Any help would be appreciated! I love your decorating sooooo much! Thanks for sharing.
